AASE student Gamble accepts Spanish contract

Thursday, 13-Sep-2012

Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) graduate Harrison Gamble has agreed to a contract with Spanish club Girona for the 2012/13 season.

Gamble, who attended the Reading Rockets Basketball Academy, was a prominent figure for the Berkshire-based club’s success at senior and junior level in recent years. At 6’10”, the 20-year old quickly became noticed by international scouts and Rockets’ Director of Coaching Matt Johnson is supportive of the move:

"We are fully behind Harrison and his new career path. Girona are getting a fantastic young man who has worked very hard to reach this point in his basketball and I am sure he will go on from there to become an excellent professional," he said.

Johnson added, "At the Rockets we are fully committed to the development of our young players and are thrilled when young players that have come through our academy programme take the next step into making basketball a real career choice. Harrison represents our club very well and we are all very proud to call him a Rocket."
