Paralympics Day 3: GB teams off the mark

Both GB teams picked up their first wins of the London 2012 Paralympic Wheelchair Basketball tournament on Saturday.
The Women were up first and they overcame a tough challenge from Brazil to win
42-37.
Trailing 31-27 after three quarters it was an impressive defensive performance in the fourth, when they held Brazil to 6 points, that saw them to their first win of the tournament after two large losses.
Amy Conroy top scored for GB with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Helen Freeman filled up the stat sheet with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists.
The Men had an easier time as they cruised to an
81-41 victoy against Colombia.
A 13-0 run in the opening quarter gave them a double digit lead and set the tone for a contest where they shot 56% from the floor in comparison to Colombia's 32%.
They extended their lead throughout the game and ended with 4 players in double figures led by Terry Bywater's 21. Bywater also made 2 of 3 from three point range and tallied 6 rebounds and 8 assists.
The Women have a day off on Sunday and the Men face a tough contest against Poland.
