England's 3x3 World Championship teams picked a bad time to have their worst day of the tournament as they were both eliminated at the Last 16 stage on Saturday.

 

The Men lost their last pool game to previously winless Lebanon (16-14), but thanks to other results still finished in second in the pool, meaning a Last 16 date with Israel.

 

The game came down to a few crucial moments, but in the end it was Israel who prevailed 18-17. The loss became even tougher to take when Israel easily qualified for the semi finals with a 21-11 win over Venezuela later in the day.

 

The Women also suffered two defeats as they lost 18-17 to Turkey in their final pool game and 15-12 to Hungary to be eliminated from the competition.

 

England will have some reason to cheer on Sunday as Tayo Ogedengbe qualified for the final of the Dunk Contest with a pair of impressive dunks whilst wearing a backpack.
