Estella keeps playing thanks to Mars Refuel
Bristol Storm Academy basketball player Estella Maloney is celebrating this week after receiving a £500 donation from the Mars Refuel Drink Fund.
Estella has been with the Academy since she was just 12. She said: "I absolutely love playing basketball and I'm now at the stage where I want to progress."
A recent survey conducted by chocolate milk drink, Mars Refuel, revealed that the main barriers preventing people from taking part in sport are a lack of motivation and cost. The Mars Refuel Drink Fund was set up to help individuals and clubs play their chosen sport for longer.
Estella said: "With this donation from the Mars Refuel Drink Fund, I can now take part in more competitions and even go to some training camps that will help me to practice my skills.
"This will be a great boost for my progression and it will allow me to train more and play longer."
The Mars Refuel Drink Fund, which runs until September 30, has one gold (£1,000), four silver (£500) and eight bronze (£250) awards to donate each month.
Applicants for support such as equipment, coaching, pitch time and travel expenses can be made online at www.marsrefuel.com.
The fund is open to residents of, and clubs and organisations based in the UK. Applicants must be 13 years or over and only one application will be accepted per person, club or organisation.
