Based at Stafford Borough Council, Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (SASSOT) is a partnership of local, regional and national agencies whose aim is to develop community sport, physical activity and physical education in the sub region. SASSOT is one of a network of 49 County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) in England.
 
In conjunction with England Basketball, SASSOT is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Basketball Development Officer (BDO) to lead the implementation of a Basketball Plan for the sub-region.
 
The BDO will work across the sub-region to drive up basketball participation, increase the quality and quantity of basketball competition and also improve the local coaching, officiating and club infrastructure.  This will involve working directly with affiliated basketball clubs as well as a range of colleagues in Local Authorities, School Sport Partnerships, Further and Higher Education, and the National Governing Body.
 
You will be self-motivated and a strong communicator with the ability to develop successful partnerships with a range of organisations. Experience of working in sports development and knowledge of current sports development initiatives and structures are required.
