School To Club Links

School to Club Links provide a very important part of the process of increasing the number of young people regularly taking part in sport, as they enable young athletes to continue in sporting activities outside of school hours.

They are a formal agreement between a School and a Club that details the obligations of both parties, and look to make basketball a sustainable element of the curriculum. The agreement is designed to allow targets to be set to increase the numbers of coaches and officials and provide exit routes to clubs for children looking to develop their basketball skills. A good place to start is the club partnership agreement template.

By establishing stronger links from Schools to basketball clubs with Clubmark, England Basketball aims to provide an opportunity for young players to develop by playing and training at clubs with the right development framework in place. Clubs offer the benefit of regular contact with qualified coaches and officials and the chance to play in local and national league games. To find your nearest England Basketball affiliated club try the Find a Club page or contact England Basketball on 0114 2841068 or Email gail.richards@englandbasketball.co.uk for more information.

Forming your own club

We appreciate that not all areas are covered by affiliated basketball clubs, the Starting a Club page has therefore been included as a very simplistic check list to ensure that most items are covered, if you require further information pleas contact one of our Regional Development Managers for assistance.
